Oh My! Some more!

We will nail down how to create the most perfect baby bootie the world has ever seen. We will accomplish it. And at the rate we’re going, we will accomplish it THIS WEEK.

I joke. But seriously, we’ve received even more feedback on how we can help you guys do the booties in style. In addition to the video linked a few days ago, we’re also going to add the directions for the flower that is pictured on one of the booties. It is the same flower pattern that is on our Mo-Arc Bag in the free pattern section. Until I get a chance to update the PDF file for the baby bootie pattern here is the directions for the flower in the meantime.

Small Flower:

Cast on 30

Row 1 and all odd rows: purl

Row 2: k2tog every stitch

Row 4: k2tog (4 times), k1, k2tog (3 times)

Row 6: k2tog every stitch

Row 8: k2tog every stitch

Row 10: bind off

Leaves:

Cast on 3

Row 1 and all odd rows: purl

Row 2: k1,yo,k1,yo,k1

Row 4: k2,yo,k1,yo,k2

You can continue adding in this manner keeping one stitch in between the yarn overs to create as large or small of a leaf as you like. Then begin decreases:

Decrease rows: ssk, k to 2 from end, k2tog

Purl a row

Repeat decrease row until only 2 stitches remain, bind off.

These also look dashing on just about any bag you could ever knit; in your hair; glued to hairless cats and any other place you could legally get away with putting them. (Though, I’ve heard the Law looks down on gluing things to hairless cats….)

REMINDER! The My Ex is Full of Knit Contest closes on MONDAY NIGHT! Be sure to get your entries in. The entries I received today will be up there shortly and voting will begin next week!
